Therapy or counselling becomes more effective, especially for individuals most severely impacted by mental health issues or emotional health issues, and as a result, the current psychiatric alternative to traditional therapy or counselling is typically prescribing a wide range of psychiatric medications, which are often relatively ineffective and have unpleasant and even dangerous side effects.
Therapeutic Adjuncts enhance and focus psychological treatments, acting synergistically with the therapeutic process and enhancing it's effects. One aspect of this interaction appears to be that the adjuncted treatment enhances the patients rapport with the therapist, increases flexibility in the patient’s mind, allowing the patient to discover and incorporate new ways of thinking about their situations/dilemmae. Furthermore, compliance with therapy is a long standing and difficult problem, potentially limiting the efficacy of all interventions and frequently being the most limiting factor in providing sustained psychotherapeutic benefit. Combining adjuncts with psychotherapeutic intervention can improve compliance with treatment plans. Yet further, treatments that reduce anxiety help prevent episodes of dissociation and panic that can derail therapy.
